5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards (1980s) Drum

A beautifully detailed 1/5th scale hand made and hand painted miniature military drum of the 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards. Museum quality collectible based on the 1980s drum emblazon.

This miniature drum is made at 1/5th scale and made from the same materials as the full size drum. It combines real vellum drum skins, separate hand painted drum hoops, leather rope tighteners, miniature hand made rope, wooden filials and brass snare hooks.

The drum measures about 3in (w) x 3.25in (h) / 7.6cm (w) x 8.8cm (h). Its weight is about 650g.

The 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards was a cavalry regiment of the British Army. However, It was formed in 1922 when the 5th Dragoon Guards (Princess Charlotte of Wales's) and the 6th (Inniskilling) Dragoons amalgamated. The Regiment served in the Second World War and the Korean War. As a consequence of the 1992 Options for Change defence cuts, the regiment amalgamated with the 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards. Together they formed the Royal Dragoon Guards.
